Ciaran's Trek Egypt Challenge
Sorry to side track from our usual pipe band news but I would like to take this opportunity to tell everyone about Trek Egypt. In May 2009 I shall be setting off to Egypt to take part in a Trek in aid of Action Cancer. As we all know cancer has touched so many life's and it is important to support charities such as Action Cancer.
You can visit my website at www.ciaranstrekegypt.com, this is where you will be able to find out more about my challenge that lies ahead and the great cause that I am doing it for. You can also sponsor me online or find out about other ways that you can donate money to Trek Egypt.
Thanks in Advance

Ulster Championships on BBC
The Ulster Championships this year in Bangor once again seen the BBC turn out and record all of the action from the day. Highlights of the Ulster Championships will be televised over two programmes and can be seen at 22.35 on 23rd and 30th September on BBC 1 Northern Ireland.
The All-Ireland Solo Piping and Drumming Championships returned to the north of the border and took place in Rathfriland High School, Co Down. An entry of over 100 competitors promised to be a great day of piping and drumming and it didn't disappoint.
Andrew Carlisle of Field Marshal Montgomery took the win in the senior piping with fellow band member Jonathon Greenless in 2nd spot followed by Allen Tully of St Laurence O'Toole. The same three men would also share the prizes in the Piobaireachd but with Jonathon Greenless getting the win on this occasion.
In the senior drumming Stephen Creighton added another All-Ireland title to his CV with Steven McWhirter in 2nd. There was more good news for Annsborough's Eoin Rogers, he won the Golden Certificate in the under 12 Drum pad competition, adding to his Ulster success from April.
