Annsborough Village

 

Annsborough is a small village situated in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is approximately 5 mile from the popular seaside resort Newcastle. Annsborough as a long history but it is particularly famous for it's involvement in the Linen industry. James Murland founded the enterprise in the village in 1800, it expanded to such a proportion that by 1836 it employed 1,000 people. Unfortunately the Linen industry heavily demised during the 20th century but Annsborough is still the base for many local businesses.
